The Tanzania Excursion and Volunteerism

Day One - Today, we’ll fly into Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Our local guide will welcome us into East Africa. After the excitement of our arrival, sit back and let the fun begin. We will spend the night in comfortable accommodations in the Capitol of Tanzania, Dar Es Salaam.

Days Two and Three – Mikumi National Park -This morning, we get an early start and head out of the capitol for Mikumi National Park where we will be spending 2 nights camping in this spectacular national park. Over the next two days, we will awake to the sounds of Africa’s wildlife and will head out on our game drives (safaris). Get ready for a first hand encounter with giraffe, elephant, lion, hyena and other antelope species. On our last night in the wildlife reserve, we will enjoy a traditional Braai (BBQ) under the African sky.

Days Four-SevenVolunteer Community Project -After bidding farewell to our new friends in the wilds of Africa, we depart back to the city for our community service project where we will spend 4 days donating our time to orphans in need.  Here, we have the opportunity to make a real difference by working with children in an Orphanage.  By donating our time, we will have the chance to learn, first hand, about the local culture, the local community, and the lives of the local people. Don’t worry, it won’t be ALL hard work!  We will also spend some time interacting with the children in a fun way, having soccer and skipping tournaments.  Our nights will be spent in comfortable accommodations near by!

Days Eight and Nine – Zanzibar Beach – After all the hard work, we head for some much needed relaxation. We catch a ferry to Zanzibar, a tropical paradise. Here, we will spend 2 nights at a quaint beach resort where we will enjoy snorkeling in the crystal clear warm waters of the Indian Ocean.  We will end off our stay in Zanzibar with an amazing Sunset cruise.
